Pig Roast light attendance. Larry estimates that 10 members showed up. We had $990 from dues + $259 from walk-ins & raffles ($1,249 total). Supplies were $731.11 leaving $517.99 profit. General consensus is that we should step it up for next year or not have it.
Brian expressed concern that participation is getting worse. Since the non-mandatory work details was essentially a trial, we voted to re-instate them. Motion made by Brian & 2nd by Rick. Members (and hunting spouses) will be required to do 2 work details per year with a fine of $50 each that are skipped.
Bruce brought up that our posted areas in the hollow next to Pumpkin Hill are incorrect. They have confirmed this with the land manager. Bruce is going to work up a meeting so that members of both clubs can go out & make sure it is posted correctly. BMHC will have a right of way on the road from 209 to the hollow. We will need to make sure this is verified by the land manager & get signs up to make sure no BMHC members are hunting on Pumpkin Hill etc.
There is a request for the board to discuss allowing member’s children to continue hunting on their parent’s membership after the age of 18 if they are full time students or military.
The board will discuss if the pig roast tickets will be included for 2016-17.
Kurt Wessner & Larry Bender brought up a proposal to revise the dues process. Members would pay $600 up front & get sheets with gift card amounts every day – winners by daily number. They could sell these or keep them for themselves. General consensus was to wait until next year (Aug 2017). A motion was made to sell these sheets in February instead of gun tickets as a test run, but was tabled for the board of directors to discuss & make a decision.
Larry Gingrich won the 50/50.
Jay Locke won the gun.
